Position Title: Principal Specialist IM – Data Manager – Oracle Developer

Work Location: Baku

Job Description:

The Principal Specialist IM – SQL Developer to join our Information management team to lead the development of the database technology stack. Responsible for developing and tuning SQL database solution and day to day running of the database and will be influential in changes to the database structure and processes to provide optimum performance and integration with other applications.

Ensures data is consistently, accurately and globally entered and extracted for use by the project team and administers the data repositories where the project engineering and supplier data is stored and maintained. This involves receiving or performing the data transfers, monitor changes to ensure effective handover of a complete, accurate dataset to the Client for the operational phase.
Responsible for establishing, operating and managing the asset tag data repository and interfaces between engineering systems for sharing data.

Key Activities:

• Facilitate the setup and configuration of the data repositories to meet the project requirements.
• Focal point for all Oracle database development activities including the following:
• Setup and ensure compliance with Data Standards
• Manage the day to day data management and collection processes.
• Extensive experience of Oracle SQL (ideally Oracle 12c) and PL/SQL
• Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures, queries and functions.
• Expertise in reviewing exiting work, creating work packages and managing the technical delivery of a team
• Demonstrable track record in working on databases where performance is the key
• Development of high quality database solutions and possess strong database design and architecture skills
• Proven analysis and problem-solving skills
• Implementing and supporting the requirements from the sponsoring team consistent with the existing architecture
• Designing and implementing new business logic / reports as SQL inside stored procedures within the existing system / reporting framework, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing functionality
• Very high level of motivation
• A good technical background in Oracle, ETL (extract, transform and load) functions and data warehousing.
• Self-sufficiency and be creative in thinking, when it comes to reporting/data solutions.
• A strong background with the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, Power BI).
• Strong communication skills

Experience, Education, Skills & Job Knowledge:

• University degree qualification or equivalent,
• Minimum 12 years of experience of Oracle application and procedural SQL development.
• Engineering/standards manager.
• An in depth understanding of electronic database tools to analyse, manipulate and transfer data.
• Power BI, SSRS, OBIEE an advantage.
• Procedural SQL etc.
• Working knowledge of CFIHOS / ISO15926 or other equivalent class libraries.
