Help us develop tourism education and training in Azerbaijan!

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) is responsible to participate in the development of education and training programs for tourism industry. ATB is responsible to participate in formulation of policy on tourism education, to support educational entities under State Tourism Agency, as well as, to organize trainings for development of tourism education. The overall purpose of the Expert on vocational education is to help ATB to develop vocational tourism education in Azerbaijan. He/she is also required to support and develop vocation education programs in line tourism industry’s needs through consultations and cooperation with different public, semi-public and private sector stakeholders.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Conduct research on vocational education in Azerbaijan
• Draft project concepts
• Develop project scope of works documents and control the tender process
• Work closely with the public and private sector at local, regional and national levels in this field
• Attend local and regional level public sector meetings representing the interests of STA/ATB and the tourism sector in general
• Work with vocation scolds to develop education programs
• Produce regular progress reports

Requirements Education and/or Experience:

• Post graduate degree in Public Policy / Tourism development / Education management/ social sciences/Law education
• At least 3 years’ experience in education sector
• Proven experience working in a team
• Awareness / understanding of the vocational education
• Experience in project management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in Azerbaijani and English
• Computer literate
• Not essential, but considered favorably is:
• Experience in public / government office
• Experience in multicultural environment / international projects
