• Project Introduction
• Abyss is a start-up; it is a separate project from – Sinam. Abyss is a hub for developers, which consists of a Marketplace for parts of code (snippets) and a Forum. Abyss’s main objective is to improve coding experience for all developers by shortening coding time and increasing its level. Our platform exists to remedy the failures of currently existing sources that coders turn to by incentivizing supply and creating a better community. It is a socially involving platform. Users have customizable profile pages and extensive communication capabilities. Abyss is a prosperous start-up, as such our early team members can expect to be rewarded with shares within a year after launch.
• Abyss is looking for a Back-End Web Developer to fully build the back-end of the platform and be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end
• The main focus regarding the server-side logic is adopting a search algorithm and fitting it to available information. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well.
• Working hours: 5 days a week from 09:00 to 18:00
• Contract period 8-12 months

• Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with server-side logic

• Understanding accessibility and security compliance
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes
• Data migration, transformation, and scripting
• Setup and administration of backups
• Outputting data in different formats
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Fluent in scripting languages like Javascript, Ruby, PHP or C#.
• Experience with web frameworks such as (Express, Laravel frameworks).
• Experience with MySQL and SQL database systems.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or SVN
• Understanding of “session management” in a distributed server environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
