Position Purpose:  The Sales Executive will actively participate in sales activities such as managing the group room blocks and catering segments in business blocks in Fidelio.

Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing

Essential Functions:

  •  Understands requirements for each events and groups, and prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, banquet event orders, group rooming list, and group resume).
  • Demonstrates the successful proposal development and presentation skills to include strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media.
  • Manages group room blocks and meeting space for an average to large-sized assigned groups.
  • Responsible for the input of events and group bookings into Fidelio.
  • Assists in the organization and coordination of specific functions and promotions handled by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Conducts site inspections and FAM tours in the absence of the Proactive salesperson.
  • Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Responsible for preparing all event documentations and coordinates with proactive salesperson and property departments to ensure consistency, high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases of property events.
  • Understands competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and knows how to sell against them.
  • Conducts targeted account research to determine potential.
  • Solicits and qualifies existing accounts which don`t have account owners, and searches for new accounts whose business opportunities meet company criteria.
  • Provides positive and aggressive sales activities to achieve personal revenue goals, collaborating with proactive salesperson.
  • Empowers Sales Coordinators to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assigns lead calls or emails to Sales Coordinator based on structure in the absence of the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Responsible for the proposals developed by Sales Coordinator, checks the correct input of forecast and revenue of events and group bookings in Fidelio.
  • Reviews groups and catering satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement.
  • Participates in sales calls with members of the proactive sales team to acquire new business and/or close of business.
  • Responsible for timely follow-up actions with the clients for pending Business Blocks, through the Account Owners.
  • Works closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to manage the day-to-day operations of the team.
  • Attends all department and hotel meetings as necessary.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years working experience, preferably within events and the group’s sales environment.

Specific job knowledge and skills:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, associates and third parties that reflect highly on the hotel.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with excellent typing skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, reasoning, motivating, organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Flexible and possess the initiative to see all assignments and projects through to completion unsupervised.
  • Fluent in English/Azeri/Russian both written and verbal required.
