Manager, Curriculum and Assessment provides overall management of ADA School’s curriculum and assessment practices and focuses on supporting curriculum design process and assessment tracking to promote the best learning opportunities for students. Curriculum and Assessment Manager works with instructors on developing and improving curricula and assessing the effectiveness of curricula and instruction. Curriculum and Assessment Manager ensures clarity, alignment and understanding of what is taught and learned and how instructors, administrators and students know what students have learned.
Manager, Curriculum and Assessment acts as ADA School IB DP coordinator and overseeing the DP Curriculum Implementation at ADA School.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure alignment of curriculum and assessment to academic standards and School’s graduate attributes and competencies;
- Review and approve syllabi that meet the school’s learning outcomes, Academic Philosophy and instructional approach;
- Manage the implementation and delivery of curriculum, courses, course standards, and assessment activities;
- Prepare teachers and academic staff for academic year and each semester, instruct faculty on expected teaching and assessment methods that align with the school’s Academic Policies;
- Visit lessons and conduct observations for quality assurance purposes and teaching quality improvement.;
- Guide and Assist instructors in improving the existing and designing new learning experiences based on assessment data;
- Evaluate and approve exam questions and overall assessment conducted in the school.
- Actively participate in continuous curriculum improvement initiative of the school and take a leading role in IB DP Curriculum Implementation;
- Act as the DP Coordinator of the School and work closely with the Head of School to ensure Academic requirements of IB DP Program;
- Suggest innovative ways that will enhance teaching and learning;
- Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, assessment, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience (Science subjects preferred) and 2 years of experience as academic manager.
- Experience of international curricula, specially IB DP curriculum and work experience as DP coordinator is beneficial.
- Excellent skills in educational technologies, especially with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard, Moodle or Canvas;
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
- Proven experience in curriculum design, assessment, and data analysis with ability to synthesize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, prepare and present reports effectively, and make necessary recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Azerbaijani.
- Strong organizational skills.
