Job Overview:

• The Information Security Specialist position requires an individual who has an IT and controls related background with general security knowledge.
• The security specialist will be tasked with a range of responsibilities to include interaction with several departments throughout the organization to write and update information security policies and procedures, work with internal technology teams and assist in the coordination of project related activities.
• In addition, the Security Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the overall Security Governance efforts and may be required to assist with Internal Audit and external regulatory compliance remediation.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor computer networks for security issues.
• Investigate and document security breaches and other cyber security incidents.
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Stay current on IT security trends and news.
• Develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
• Perform penetration testing.
• Maintains awareness of security directives, orders, standards, plans and procedures.
• Ensures security operating manuals and procedural documents stay current when regulations change
• Provide guidance and support to global entities and subsidiaries for consistent security documentation (e.g. policies, procedures, etc.) creation and enforcement
• Maintains all policy, procedure and associated governance documentation related to organization specific security compliance methodologies
• Assists with third party audit documentation and remediation tracking
• Interfaces regularly with staff from various departments communicating security issues, obtaining additional information as needed, and providing status of remediation to security management
• Identifies security gaps and obstacles, and launch projects to establish solutions
• Fosters strong partnerships and can effectively prioritize workload demands to meet deadlines
• Assists Security team with internal process improvement initiatives including establishing workflows and automation of manual processes
• Test and evaluate new technologies, products and services
• Gather feedback from end users to continue to improve systems
• Design, analyze and implement efficient IT security systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or other related field preferred
• 2 years of experience required; Audit/Risk administration, Cyber Security, or Information Technology preferred
• Knowledge of information security concepts and technologies
• Knowledge and experience on security hardening of Windows, Linux/Unix, Web, network environment
• Knowledge of system and network administration
• Knowledge and expertise with a wide range of security/risk management governance, guidance, compliance documentation such as NIST 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), PCI-DSS, ISO or equivalent
• Experience working in complex IT organization is a plus
• Experience with coding, SQL, or similar query language is a plus
• Certification in any of the following preferred: CISA, Security +, CEH, or equivalent
• Advanced Computer and  MS Office User
• Minimum intermediate level English (IELTS or TOEFL certificate is a plus)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide training/seminars/webinars and other knowledge sharing sessions to the internal and external customers.
• Ability for a business trip (local and international)
