Company Introduction

• Abyss is a start-up that is currently building an online hub for developers to communicate, network and trade digital parts worldwide. It is an Ecosystem that intertwines the marketplace with a forum thus strengthening the coder community while generating a monetary incentive for creators. At Abyss we aim to ease the process of coding for all individuals while helping them, and businesses, maximize efficiency. Our platform exists to remedy the failures of currently existing sources that coders turn to by incentivizing supply and creating a better community. Abyss has been in development for just over a year and is about to get launched very soon. It has been registered as a corporation in the US and as MMC (Ltd) in Azerbaijan.

Job Description

• We are looking for a Back-End Web Developer to take on the role as the lead back-end engineer and work closely alongside the founders to help turn their vision into a global platform. You will be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the client. The database consists of hundreds of different column types, therefore, proficiency in MySQL and MongoDB will be required for efficient server performance. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.
  You will be expected to work for at least 40 hours a week and the work will be hybrid (some days office some days remote).

Technical Skills

• You will be using:
• Laravel 8 (2+ years of experience is preferred)
• PHP8.1
• Redis
• MySQL
• MongoDB
• REST
• GIT workflow (Gitlab repo)
• Any experience with the following will be considered a huge bonus:
• AWS (EC2, Api Gateway, Elastic Load balancer, Opensearch, S3 bucket)
• WebSockets
• Queue system
• Devops (Nginx, SSL)

• It is a large and heavy project, so naturally, you will face tasks and issues that will be completely new to you. That is why, it is most important that you can learn new skills and acquire knowledge fast.
• 1700-2500 AZN (salary varies depending on candidate’s experience and skill set) + potential shares in the company!
• Fluency or Full Professional Proficiency in English required! Work is conducted in English.
