POSITION SUMMARY:
Logistic Specialist performs various functions in ensuring that company don’t run out of stock and primarily responsible for making sure products reach their destinations safely, securely, and on-time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform, organize, and streamline operational tasks to reduce the potential for errors.
- Provide technical assistance to clients and staff.
- Monitoring for problems, taking immediate action where possible and escalating when required.
- Interact with clients, resolving problems, and providing information.
- Follow recommendations of PIC and provide summary reports about inventory when necessary.
- Place daily spare parts orders in SAP system.
- Coordinate and managing import process of spare parts.
- Constitute spare parts ordering costs and take measures to reduce them
- Assess Spare Parts and Service Department processes according to related Caterpillar Guides and define improvement areas.
- Establish communication with Caterpillar when needed and report monthly KPIs to Caterpillar.
- Develop reports showing transportation costs on precise projects and moves.
- Conduct physical cataloging, warehousing, inventorying, material control coordination and data entry assisting different supply activities.
- Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data.
- Provide an assistance for maintaining logistics planning tasks.
- Review and analyze program effectiveness, suggest and execute on time improvements and corrective actions.
- Investigate inventory divergence, resolve issues and update database to replicate property movement.
- Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables inventory levels.
- Administer and maintain inventory control program systems and electronic property management.
- Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another
- Arrange transportation, schedule staff, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
- Receives products and coordinates delivery
- Prepares loads for shipment
- Makes sure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels
- Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met
- Oversees inventory of goods and vehicles
- Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible
- Streamlines shipping and transportation processes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or relevant field from the accredited university or at least 2 years of work experience as a logistics specialist or another supply chain similar role
- Proven record of successful management in both distribution and logistics
- Experience and proficiency in standard logistics software
- Strong data-entry skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Able to prioritize work, delegate, and meet deadlines
- Positive “can do” attitude with a passion for customer service.
- Collaborative worker and teambuilding ability.
- Fluency in written and oral Azerbaijani, English and Russian. Proficiency in Turkish is preferred.
- Computer skills-user level (MS Office usage).
- Ability to travel on occasion.
