Job Title: Painting & Blasting Supervisor
Reports To (position): Painting & Blasting Superintendent
Supervises (position): Painting & Blasting crew

Primary Job Purpose: write a statement explaining the job’s overall purpose, in doing so, try to answer the question “why does the job exist?”

Project Field Supervision of Painting Field Staff and overall Budget Performance as well as management of the overall site. Perform other duties as required.

Job Dimensions: Set out relevant facts and figures relating to the job (if relevant)

Oversees the daily painting activities at work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project. Works with contractors to complete project within the given budget and timeframe. Resolves contract disputes and arranges any necessary order changes. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:

• Provides leadership to Managers within a function; may also manage first-line supervisors and/or professional staff
• Develops financial and operational objectives within own area. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives
• Contributes to functional strategy development. Has in-depth functional expertise and broad business knowledge
• Applies managerial expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives within own area
• Develops relationships with key internal/external customers to identify emerging needs

• Manages resources to ensure financial objectives are met within own area
• Resolves complex problems that have implications beyond own area
• Develops operational plans to align with business objectives within own area/function

• Meets with Painters or facilities manager to plan and prioritize work according to established production targets.
• Directs daily work assignments of a paint crew.
• Prepares formal and informal job estimates for current and future projects.
• Prepares and maintains records of time worked and materials expended on projects.
• Orders materials and supplies.
• Enforces existing methods and procedures relative to construction, maintenance and repair activities.
• Inspects work of painters in the field or shop.
• Assists in the development and motivation of staff through training.
• Monitors and instructs staff regarding safety regulations and procedures.
• Meets with representatives of other departments, outside organizations and the general public in connection with maintenance work.
• Uses a personal computer to write correspondence and keep records.
• Drives a vehicle to job sites, paint shops, and meetings at various locations.
• Performs related duties as required.

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• PA certificate
• English Language minimum level- pre-intermediate
