Responsibilities
- Teaching
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
- Establish a safe and stimulating environment for the students, rooted in mutual respect.
- Set goals that develop and challenge students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Demonstrate the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students and throughout the school.
Promote good progress and outcomes for the students
- Be accountable for students’ attainment, progress and outcomes.
- Be aware of the capabilities and prior knowledge of students, and plan teaching to build on these
- Guide students to reflect on the progress they have made and any needs to assist future learning.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how students learn and how this impacts on teaching.
- Encourage students to take a responsible and conscientious attitude towards their own work and study.
Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
- Have a secure knowledge of the relevant subject and curriculum areas taught.
- Show an understanding of how these subjects or areas of learning could be developed, either in the class or across the school
- Take responsibility for promoting high standards of English in the class, both in written and spoken forms. This may include knowledge of synthetic phonics.
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons
- Plan to provide knowledge and understanding through effective use of lesson time.
- Promote a love of learning and intellectual curiosity.
- Set homework which consolidates and extends the learning.
- Reflect systematically on the effectiveness of lessons and approaches to learning.
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all students
- Know when and how to differentiate appropriately.
- Have a secure knowledge of factors which can affect a student’s ability to learn, and how best to help.
- Have a clear understanding of the needs of all students; those of high ability, those needing support with English as an additional language etc.
- Make effective use of assessment
- Understand how and when to assess the various subject areas as laid down by the school.
- Make use of both formative and summative assessment to assist students’ progress.
- Use data and knowledge to set targets and help in future lesson planning.
- Give students regular feedback, especially using the marking policy of the Primary School.

- Background
- Bachelor degree is a must
- 1+ years of experience as a teacher
- Work experience in international/English speaking schools is a plus▪
