• The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a British based Non-Governmental Organization engaged in the eradication of landmines and other unexploded ordnance. MAG’s mission is to build the futures of people affected by the remnants of conflict through responsive, quality-driven and progressive action. We remove the physical threat of injury and death and alleviate economic devastation. We provide clearance and education enabling an escape from the poverty and suffering caused by conflict.
• Position Purpose:
• Programme Translator assists the CD/TOM with their daily duties when required and facilitates communication between speakers of Azerbaijani and English languages by converting written and verbal texts accurately and effectively.
• Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate written translation and oral interpretation during all field operations, meetings, training, workshops, and investigations from English to Azerbaijani and vice versa, as requested.
•  To advise the CD/TOM on local, cultural, political and religious issues where necessary.
• Assist the CD/TOM with preparing and writing meeting minutes, reports, and statements as required, which may include taking and translating statements in the local language.
• To maintain a secure filing system for both soft and hard copies of all MAG data in the PT possession that is easy to access and understand (authorized personnel only).
• To regard all matters of their duties as confidential and not to disclose those matters to any individuals.
• Travel between Baku, Tartar, Aghdam and other regions on short notice.
