Strategic Planning and Analysis Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning
• Proactively participate in development and formulation of the whole Group’s Corporate and business units’ Business strategies;
• Manage Strategic planning process, prepare strategic plans (Strategy Reviews), and identify long-term strategic goals, objectives, and initiatives and options aligned with the goals and objectives;
• Drive institutionalizing of Strategic planning and implementation processes drafting respective policy and procedures;
• Research and Analysis
• Gather and analyze data conducting and commissioning primary and secondary research; perform periodical external (on macroeconomy, global trends, technology, etc.) and internal environment analysis to support Group’s Strategy implementation; learn best practices benchmarking with an industry and key players;
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of uncertainty and risks of various environmental factors and internal inputs using scenario analysis,sensitivity analysis, and other appropriate types of analytical tools (e.g.simulations, optimizations, decision trees, etc.);
• Build decision roadmaps, spreadsheets, and business cases, and perform financial modeling to support resource allocation, ivestment decisions, and strategic initiatives;
• Provide recommendations to leadership at strategic and operational level based on key findings and conclusions gained through and on insights derived from research and analysis; prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports and presentations;
• Strategy Execution and Performance Management
• Drive and support introduction and use of performance management and measurement tools such as strategic management accounting, balanced scorecard, strategy maps, etc.;
• Link strategy to execution and control strategy implementation through various formats and tools: Strategy Review meetings, scorecards, reports, etc.
• Get in touch with and support different functions within HQ (finance,operations, human resources, etc.) with regard to Strategic planning and performance management; support yearly operational planning process within HQ;
• Provide support to Group’s business units in terms of strategy alignment and target achievement validating and cascading the strategy (translating strategic goals into objectives, targets, and financial and non-financial performance metrics);
• Project Management
• Provide project management support for strategic initiative and projects at both HQ and business units’ level;
• Prepare documents (roadmaps, business cases, etc.) and presentations related to strategic initiatives;

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering;
• At least 2 years of professional experience in management consulting practice of Big-4 and 2nd tier management consultancies, or in strategy department of banks, telecom operators, or large diversified companies;
• Track record of strong numerical and financial, and business analysis skills supported by relevant certification (ACCA/CIMA);
• In-depth knowledge of macroeconomics, and global business and technology trends;
• Excellent command of Azerbaijani, both written and spoken; advanced English is a plus;
• Highly proficient in using Excel and specialized tools for decision and risk analysis;
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with all stakeholder groups;
• Excellent written and spoken communication, and presentation skills;
• Structured thinking and ability to form and test hypothesis; ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and high-volume environment;
• Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines.
