Responsibilities:
As Technical Trainer:
- Training delivery (classroom/ virtual) of short technical courses in accordance with approved curriculum and teaching methods for new hire onboarding, – also support in global delivery when required
- Incorporate new curriculum in the teaching process (e.g., develops clarification or examples of application related to the subject matter)
- Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
- Provide recommendations for maintaining the overall training curriculum and materials that are presented live, online, via mobile devices, and in print format
- Prepare and translate training materials from English & Turkish to Azerbaijani.
- Develop detailed Training Plans and professional business proposals aligned with Caterpillar and Global Learning & Development (L&D) Center requirements.
- Develop subject matter expertise in new technology, products, or processes and serves as a subject matter expert in the development of learning materials for these new areas using the Learning & Development Process (LDP)
- Arranges for an appropriate learning environment for the presentation of material, which may include room arrangement, audiovisual equipment, technical equipment, web access, handouts
- Measures results of technical training using appropriate methods for determining participant reaction, amount of learning, and ability to demonstrate new skills in the classroom setting
- Maintain and upgrade lab equipment and computers used in training
- Prepare the training facility, vehicles, and tools/equipment as required prior to course delivery and return the environment to its appropriate state once the training is completed
- Provide recommendations in the development of service technical training curriculum as a subject matter expert
- Deliver mechanical, electrical or electronics training using a blend of traditional and contemporary methods including advanced simulations.
As L&D Specialist:
- Pre-event administration and support, including sending out invitations, joining instructions, making changes to events, informing relevant parties of participation requirements or asking for specific needs, securing training delivery resources (trainer, room, materials etc.), support external vendors with orientation and process needs (sometimes preparing the venue).
- Post-event administration, including sending feedback requests, gathering feedback responses and creating reports, issuing attendance certificates, providing post-course learner support, collecting trainer feedback and attendance sheets.
- Booking of external activities or external vendors providing internal training, which also includes support with researching the appropriate venue or trainer/vendor.
- Handling enquiries about specific L&D initiatives coming from learners, trainers, other business stakeholders and redirecting when appropriate.
- Unblocking approval workflows where appropriate (reminders to requester or approver to perform the necessary action) and inform of implications in case of approval or rejection.
- Generating L&D reports for various stakeholders: attendance, feedback, adoption, utilization, completion, compliance, satisfaction, various other KPIs defined within L&D or by the business.
- Managing course waitlists and training requests (either individual or coming from the Learning Needs Analysis or Performance Management processes).
- Maintaining employee training records, including making manual changes where the technology does not allow automated status updates.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor and Associate Degree in Technical, Education, Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical) or relevant field from the accredited university or at least 3 years of work experience in a relevant role.
- Experience as a Technical Trainer.
- Service Technician background preferred.
- Highly skilled with common workplace and database software (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills and ability to operate independently.
- High level of competence in preparation and presentation.
- Strong data-entry skills and attention to detail.
- Experience facilitating training sessions for a variety of audiences and levels.
- Some experience in Instructional Design an asset.
- Ability to influence, be assertive and manage client expectations.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to prioritize work, delegate, and meet deadlines.
- Positive “can do” attitude with a passion for customer service.
- Collaborative worker and teambuilding ability.
- Fluency in written and oral Azerbaijani, English. Proficiency in Turkish and Russian is preferred.
- Excellent with MS Office tools and Keynote, and preferably training specific authoring tools.
- Ability to maintain databases.
- Ability to travel on occasion.
